Chanel Quilted Flap Bag

              Chanel Quilted Flap Bag

What Goes Around Comes Around Vintage are known for finding the most interesting and truly vintage designer pieces, globally. Just follow along on their latest finds and you’ll know just how serious this team of voyagers are.

My vintage weakness at the moment has got to be anything attractive by Chanel and sure enough guess who just got one classy Chanel bag in? It’s a Quilted Flap Bag in Camel and it’s presented by WGACA for ShopBop. The thought of how popular this style was years ago and how it still ranks at the top of many Bagista’s wish lists today is astounding.

As mentioned previously this is a vintage find, so a couple of flaws or signs of wear is expected. Even as I took a few moments to study this piece, it is indeed in good condition for something claimed to be pre-loved.

The color listed reads Camel and with the gold toned hardware of choice it creates an overall stunning combination. All the wonderful features of chained leather-woven straps, logoed turn lock, smooth quilting and more can be found on this piece as well.

Chanel Handbags & Purses

The Parisian fashion house was created by Coco Chanel in the earily 1900’s. The first handbag by the designer was the Chanel classic chain and quilted leather handbag on February 1955.. the date is used as the name of the recently re-released bag, 2.55.

Coco Chanel worked until her death in the 1970’s. Karl Lagerfeld is the head designer today.

The Chanel brand is well-known for their diamond pattern as well as the signature Chanel interlocking double-C (one facing forwards the other facing backwards), both which have become widely copied trademarks by counterfeiters.

Celebrities famously known for their Chanel handbag collection are Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, Cameron Diaz, Hilary Duff, Ashley & Mary Kate Olsen, Jessica Simpson, Mischa Barton, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Victoria Beckham, Agyness Deyn and many more.

Christian Dior Panerea Tote in Quilted Fuchsia!

dior-pink-quilted-tote

Most of us Bagista’s are quite familiar with Christian Dior’s spacious shopper totes and throughout the seasons, we’ve seen the modification of the different textures and colors on these handy totes.

For S/S ’10, Dior presents a quilted coated canvas in the stunning shade of fuchsia. I could settle with quilted coated canvas, but when it comes to this Dior style, rich leather would have been my pick.

Regardless, this tote looks great and its cannage design is presented lovely. From a distance, I assumed the chunky, oversized hardware consisted of gunmetal; instead, it’s something a bit more exotic that gives this tote that eye-catching summery vibe.

Wooden links and the oversized “O” charm compliments this tote bag wonderfully and gives this sunny day pick a very unique appearance.

In regards to the few wooden accented handbags I’ve ran into, nothing had really caught my attention, but this Dior tote is definitely an exception.

Gucci Secret GG Satchel

Gucci-Secret-GG-Satchel

If I had to pick one phrase to describe the Gucci Secret GG Satchel, it would be “exceedingly grown-up.” Make no mistake about it – this bag is for a grown woman and it means business.

It doesn’t appear to be exactly the right size or shape to carry actual paperwork, but it does give the distinct impression of being an all work/no play sort of handbag. Perhaps its the sharp right angles or the rectangular, stiff shape. Perhaps it’s both, plus the dark-chocolate brown leather and crocodile trim that reminds me of the materials that are often used to make fine briefcases.

Whether or not those are negative things probably depend on your own personal style. Even though this bag isn’t exactly in line with mine, I can’t help but admire its elegant lines and the rich-looking materials that comprise it. I’d rather have avoided the logo fabric at the sides, but you can’t win ‘em all.

Marc Jacobs Night In Rio Swarovski-Studded Clutch

Ladies and gentlemen, we are just days away from 2010. Can you believe it? I remember being younger and never quite understanding adults saying “Where has this year gone?”, yet now that I am, I guess an adult, I get it. It’s as if you blink and half the year is gone. But that’s really neither here nor there. With New Year’s Eve right around the corner, I try to mentally plan what I am going to wear and carry. When it comes to New Year’s Eve, I want a shiny, noticeable and gorgeous handbag in my hand.

Whenever I have a certain look in mind, more often times than not, Marc Jacobs pulls through in the clutch – no pun intended. The Marc Jacobs Night In Rio Swarovski-Studded Clutch is just the kind of handbag I would love to have in my hand once the New Year’s Eve Ball drops. There is a bit of understated elegance about this bag.

Not only does it look gorgeous from afar, but once you hear the details about it, I am sure you could become a fan. This black satin clutch is adorned with Swarovski crystal and gold-tone stud embellishments. I am a huge fan of the way the embellishments come together on this bag: structured yet elegant. While I could do without the gold-tone padlock at the front, it actually adds a bit of dimension and weight to the bag.

Coach Peyton Embossed Exotics Carryall

In the dead of winter, nothing brightens things up like a shock of vibrant, in-your-face color. Even the drabbest days caused by the dullest weather suddenly seem tolerable if there’s a bold purse on your arm. I like anything with a pinkish background, such as the enigmatic fuchsia that makes this Coach Peyton Embossed Exotics Carryall such a standout. Without the color, it’s still a pretty decent purse – chic and very practical, with a great shape and smooth leather. It’s also available in black and ivory if you prefer something simpler, but I’d opt for this in an instant.

Chloe Ines Box Clutch

Chloe Ines Box Clutch
There’s something instantly mood-lifting about the vibrant hues of this Chloe Ines Box Clutch – call it Prozac in a purse. Cleverly invoking this season’s hot color-blocking trend, the personality-packed clutch pairs Miami pink with an intense coralish red, all in gleaming, oh-so-sexy patent leather. My favorite part are the handy wrist straps (one in each color) that provide maximum portability. There’s no hiding in the shadows with this purse, ladies.

Heidi Montag & Her Chloe Paraty Purse

Heidi Montag & Her Chloe Paraty Purse
No wonder Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt sign up for cheesy reality shows (and no, I’m not referring to “The Hills”) and pose for clearly staged photos – all that money is funding Heidi’s serious handbag habit! After striking out with her slime green Hermes Birkin, Heidi’s finally found a winner: the Chloe Paraty purse.

Chloe Ada Handbag

Chloe Ada Handbag
A bit utilitarian and serious, yet also so stylish and emblematic of classic Chloe, the Ada Bag is sure to appeal to women who appreciate form, function and understated beauty in their handbags. Truthfully, this is more about doing the job than looking the part – it’s full of compartments, outside pockets, interior pockets – but it somehow does end up looking softly elegant in the process.

Kate Bosworth’s Handbag Mystery Solved!

Kate Bosworth’s Handbag Mystery Solved!
Kate Bosworth was traipsing all over the globe, teasing us with an unidentified handbag the last few months. She’s been seen at movie premiers, shopping, running errands and everything in between with a taupey-muaveish colored leather bag with gold hardware and a distinguishing decorative feature on the front. While it’s an interesting purse and it fits Kate’s style quite well, it’s not a bag that I would personally choose for myself.
