The house of Burberry is a popular luxury British company. Like most popular designer names, Burberry possesses a well recognized trademark. Rather than logos, Burberry is distinguished by its distinctive checkered pattern. Personally, I’m not crazy over the pattern; I prefer to think of it as pleasant instead. Reasons being that some items produced by the House of Burberry, I adore.

I have a little bit of history with Burberry.

For the longest time, I wanted a Burberry purse. I’m not sure why exactly… whether it was because they look nice, or because they are so English, or because Kate Moss was the company’s face for such a long time… I just wanted one.

Actually, what I wanted was a Burberry scarf, but I ended up buying a purse. It was special to me because it was one of my first ‘real’ purses — meaning one that I bought for myself, that was not a gift from someone else.

Problem was, when I got it, it didn’t take long to fall out of love with it. This may be in part to the bashing it’s image has taken recently (I’m talking about the Noveau Riche Chav-scum cap-wearers and the Madonna endorsement. not the ridiculous Kate Moss coke thing), or it may be that Burberry is one of those labels you start off with, then you mature to bigger and better. Kind of like a first kiss, if you will.

But I may be biased. After all, they are very, very beautiful purses. There’s no doubt when you carry one of the quality on your arm. They’re cute and classy and hey, does it matter that they’re made in Italy and not England?

 Of course not.

I think that every girl should start off with Burberry, because it teaches you about quality and class, as well as helping to form individual taste and preference. It should be the beginning of a life-long affair with purses, a catalyst for change and progress.

What happens now is that I’ll wait until I’m thirty-five, then I’ll probably start wearing Burberry again. For the time being, I am content to have it be a first love.

We’re back to Burberry again, folks, because I’m more than a little suspicious that quite a few people will have this bag on their Christmas lists.Going by the rather awkward name of the Prorsum, It’s a nice big roomy purse made of canvas, with creamy-brown leather trimming and handles and brass hardware. Very, very nice.

I think I know what I always find slightly off-putting about Burberry… that signature check has been faked so many times now that even the genuine Burberry purses look like fakes. At least with a fake Fendi or Kate Spade, you can’t really tell what ‘make’ it is from a distance — it could be anything, really.

Burberry, on the other hand, is so distinctive that it’s immediately noticable and, thanks to the tons of fakes, almost common-looking now.

It really is a pity, because the purse itself is top-notch in terms of craftsmanship and care. It’s just the image of the label itself that is slipping somewhat. And that is sad.

There are so many of these designer PDA/iPod cases around it would take a long while to cover all of them; as it is, sometimes one or two just catches your eye - like this one here from Burberry.

It’s a bronze-and-cream canvas material with brown leather trim and the Burberry Equestrian knight stamped firmly on the front. The brown leather stay also has the Burberry logo stamped (albeit discreetly) on the front.

I have to admit it, I love this holder. It’s very classy and sophisticated - luxurious without being either cheap or ostentatious. 

Perfect stocking filler! 

This is one of the classiest purses I’ve seen so far this year.

Coming from the Burberry Prorsum collection, it really does stand out: beautiful creamy leather with leather trim and canvas lining, not to mention an adjustable leather handle. It has a simple zip closure and a beigey lining with multiple pockets.

It’s not often Burberry release a purse that doesn’t have the traditonal Burberry check, which makes this purse all the more lovely — there’s just that tiny little Burberry logo to show where it comes from. The rest of the purse is a delight, with beautiful, soft colours — brown and white really is magical when it’s done with care — and the result is a purse any woman would be proud of.

Please Burberry, we want some more!

This is the Burberry Novacheck shoulder bag, a classic Burberry purse made of lovely cotton canvas with leather trim and gold hardware.

This is, of course, one of the most widely recognised prints out there - but it really is such a cute little thing. With most Burberry purses, if it’s has the classic Burberry check it really does look much nicer on smaller vs large bags - the print is much more classy on a smaller surface.

The spring finally knocked on our door and we certainly won’t let it stand outside in the cold for long! And what do we associate with spring time, beside lovy dovy butterflies in your tum tum and makin’ babies? That’s right, flowers.

Burberry proves to us that they are capable of more than just plaid canvas. Their very own Floral Wristlet sports a swank white base leather with a pretty emerald flower print. The flap holds the wristlet’s contents with the help of a shiny steel buckle. A matching emerald-colored wrist strap completes the package. For $395.

If your mother is a new mother, a new diaper bag is not only a nice idea but a necessity for new mommies and their babies. There are two diaper bags that can be either for a baby boy or girl and can show off the mother’s sense of style (even when she is actually beyond exhausted). First I want to delve into the glorified simplicity of designer Kate Spade with her Kate Spade Large Baby Bag. The baby bag is made of cotton canvas with adorable doodle-print nylon changing pad and lining. Other necessary features include double shoulder straps, leather tie closure, four open and one zipper pocket inside and comes sized at 10½”H X 15″L X 5½”W. I would chose this hot number for a mommie with a new baby boy, because the blue color is simple and divine. For a not so bad price, you can find this baby bag for $325.00 .

Now for my pick for the mommie with the new baby girl. I know it almost seems arbitrary to buy blue for a boy and pink for a girl, but I like the old-fashioned idea, and can not believe that it would ever go out of style. At first I was going to chose the Burberry Diaper Bag with the signature burberry check style, but decided on this lovely Burberry Quilted Diaper Bag in pink. I assume the store has it in blue also, but online I only see pink, so this is my pick for girls. Not to mention the quilted outside adds a feminine touch. Back to the bag. Burberry features a pink quilted fabric. Making sure it is evident that the bag is made by Burberry, the shoulder strap back is printed in the signature novacheck pattern along with other outer accents. Also it has a flap front with snaps, side pockets, and of course unzips to a changing pad.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think the US National Treasury melted a few gold bars from Fort Knox and handed them to Burberry to mold this wonderfully shining piece of bag! Ain’t it pretty? The large Burberry Flat Portrait Tote bag features long double shoulder straps and a magnetic snap closure, while goldtone ring and stud detailing add even more shiny to the shine. The inside is lined in cotton and holds and inside zipper and a celly pocket.
