Forget Tina Turner - we do need another Hero. Well, a Lanvin Hero, at least, like the fresh white leather one maybe-pregnant Jennifer Garner is carrying here. Jennifer may tend to favor simple, casual outfits that suit her mommy lifestyle, but she never skimps on style when it comes to purses. The Hero (see brown leather version below), with its modern zipped pockets and leather band running down the center, is a perfect choice, easily ticking both the ‘chic’ and ‘grab and go’ boxes. Bonus points for going with the summer-appropriate white version.

Say cheese! This pic of Heidi Klum and hubby Seal on holiday warms my heart, and not simply because of their lovey-dovey actions or the fact that supermodels looks like regular folks sans makeup. Nope, it’s Heidi’s Lanvin leopard-print Pocket Book that has me feeling the love. Lanvin’s my personal favorite handbag label, and I love this sassy and striking print. So what if it’s impractical? If a stylish mom like Heidi can find room in her wardrobe for it, so can I. (Oh, and props to Seal and his man purse.)

Has Alber Elbaz been vacationing with the Dolce and Gabbana boys? By the looks of this ferocious leopard-print Lavin Pocket Book, all signs point to “si.” While I’d be hard-pressed to find an overwhelming need for a bold animal print in my wardrobe, the you-Tarzan-me-Jane aesthetic certainly makes for fun viewing. The calf leather purse features Lanvin’s signature chain shoulder strap, romantically adorned with black ribbon and a hanging Lanvin medallion. The boxy frame keeps the leopard print from looking too Las Vegas cougar-y, but when all is said and done, I’ll be spending my hard-earned dollars on something a bit more versatile.

We all know that Lanvin is terrific for versatile, effortlessly stylish totes that up the grab-and-go bag’s glamour quotient. But it’s the labels fresh batch of delicious clutches that has me in a tizzy. Meet Lanvin’s chic Pop Satin Pouchette trio, a sumptuous satin foldover clutch sweetly adorned with a contrast grosgrain ribbon. The color combinations range from the playful and daring turquoise to the slightly more austere but not obvious black with navy trim, to the contemporary-cool navy with black trim. I love them all, which means I either get to play a little round of “Sophie’s Choice,” or I need to come up with some funds.

Is Alber Elbaz attending some seriously swanky rodeos, or is this luscious Lanvin Rodeo PM Handbag a nod not to barrel-racing events, but rather the uber-elite Rodeo Drive? Discuss amongst yourselves. In the meantime I’ll be placing my order for this gorgeous black patent leather purse, beautifully adorned with a Parisian flourish in the form of a gold chain strap interwined with a devastatingly chic black grosgrain ribbon. The purse, bolstered by twin gold turnlock closures, is deceptively wide, giving you ample space for lipsticks, mags, membership cards to the Alber Elbaz fan club, that sort of thing.

What’s the difference between the Lanvin Madras Hero and the Lanvin Madras Heroine? Pockets. The creamy beige leather Heroine has no outer pockets, though there is one inside. Otherwise, it’s business as usual - petite rectangle shape, silver nickle chain straps that connect to silver holes on each side, and a leather band with turn-lock closure that wraps around the bag.

Lest there were any doubt, Lanvin’s Gourmet Bag hammers the point home: Chain straps are big right now. Here the chain is made of silver nickel, and combined with the black leather flat bag it’s attached to, it presents a sort of high-fashion take on recycled street fashion (think black garbage bags and soda can tabs). That’s not a bad thing though - it just gives this simple but edgy handbag a punky, industrial vibe that most $1,300 bags just can’t fake. The bag also comes in beige and has the signature Lanvin medallion.

James Bond had “The Man with the Golden Gun.” With any luck, and a whole lot of moolah, you’ll be the woman with the golden handbag. Who could resist this glitzy, glamorous Lanvin Montrogueil Bag? The gold metallic leather sparkles like sand, and embraces the rather prim and proper frame in pure luxury. There’s lots of eye candy here - the gold leather handle, front flap, and vertical strips; the detachable chain strap with Lanvin medallion (trend alert!); the zippered bottom section; and the elegant turn-lock closure. Hey, if you’re going to go high-end, you might as well go all the way. An exquisite handbag for women with a taste for the finer things in life.

Earlier in the year, Jen Garner was photographed all over Boston playgrounds toting a Jansport backpack. While Jansports are fine with the middle school crowd, someone as cute as Jennifer shouldn’t be photographed with it relentlessly. I’m quite glad she left that bag behind and opted for a more grown-up, more elegant Lanvin Hero. This bag fits her style nicely — unfussy and sweet.

Oooh…I like. Edie Sedgwick would have flipped for this ultra-mod Lanvin Nopalea Bag, which features a killer clear Lucite handle attached by silver hardware to the stark white Nopalea leather body. The bag has some slight gathering in the middle, where a seam runs down, and the shape is just the right amount of slouchy, aka relaxed cool. I think this is a hip handbag that captures the mod sensibility that’s so in right now (see Sienna Miller, short sack dresses, and Lucite bracelets). It’s the cooler kid sister to the Lanvin Kentucky bag.
