Victoria Beckham can sleep easy tonight, as there were a slew of Hermes purses for their No. 1 fan to sink her teeth into at the Hermes Spring 2008 show in Paris. Chestnut, white, honey, green, a bizarre burgundy/orange/red crocodile creation, and (my favorite) an intense teal ostrich Birkin – there were lots of eye candy for Hermes purists, including clutches and an odd padlock-shaped evening bag. But ultimately the show felt like a disappointment. Yes, the Birkin and the Kelly bag are classics, but where’s the reinvention? Where’s the new stuff? At least give us some more exciting colors!
